Built to Last, Designed to Perform
Thermoplastic is more than just paint—it’s a hot-applied, polymer-based marking designed to bond with surfaces and resist wear from tyres, UV rays and rain. It’s ideal for high-demand areas where safety and visibility are critical. We offer both machine-laid and pre-cut thermoplastic options depending on the job, from arrows and speed limit signs to bicycle lanes and pedestrian crossings. We also use anti-slip beads and reflective elements to ensure visibility at night or in wet conditions.
Whether it’s a road upgrade or a new development, our team delivers crisp, clean lines that meet all relevant standards.

What is thermoplastic line marking and how does it work?
Thermoplastic line marking is a durable road and surface marking method that involves applying a hot, plastic-based material to asphalt or concrete. The thermoplastic compound is heated to a high temperature (typically around 180–200°C) until it liquefies, then applied directly onto the surface using specialised equipment. Once cooled, it hardens into a tough, long-lasting line that is highly resistant to wear, UV rays and weather.
Due to its high reflectivity and durability, thermoplastic is commonly used for road lanes, pedestrian crossings, arrows, and symbols. It often includes reflective glass beads or anti-skid additives for enhanced visibility and safety.
How long does thermoplastic line marking last?
Thermoplastic markings are known for their longevity compared to traditional paint. When applied correctly and on a properly prepared surface, thermoplastic can last between 3 to 5 years or even longer, depending on traffic volume, climate, and maintenance. In high-traffic areas such as major roads and intersections, thermoplastic is preferred because it doesn’t fade or wear as quickly as paint. Its resistance to oil, chemicals and rain also makes it a cost-effective solution for long-term surface marking.
What are the benefits of thermoplastic over regular line marking paint?
Thermoplastic offers several key advantages over traditional road marking paint. First and foremost, it lasts significantly longer, reducing the need for frequent reapplications. It also provides better night-time visibility due to embedded reflective beads, making it ideal for safety-critical areas. Thermoplastic is more resistant to abrasion from tyres, chemicals, and weather elements, which helps maintain clear, sharp lines over time.
Additionally, it cures quickly after application, allowing roads or work zones to reopen faster. While the upfront cost is higher than paint, its long-term durability often makes it a more economical option.
